Crew:
I will be working with a small set group through the Winter on steering basics including steering strokes, commands & communication, catching bump, and local water & safety. If you trained with the women racers since March 2022 and are interested and committed to being certified to steer next year, please respond to me directly (even if we’ve already talked/emailed about this training). This will be a set group, not a drop in training, and regular attendance is necessary. Once the group is determined I will email homework until we meet for the first session.
The group will meet at 8:00 AM Saturday for 12 weeks (Nov 12&19, Dec 3&10, Jan 7,14,21,28, and Feb 4,11,18,25) for 1-hour before Fitness Paddle. Please only reply if you are serious about being certified to steer with the understanding that you might steer all year (as a few of us did this year).
(If you’re thinking you want to learn but don’t want to be certified there will be other opportunities to learn to steer during race-practice beginning March 18, 2023.)
