Maka Nui
Acquired from original Akau Hana Canoe Club.
Need more info.
Purchased in 1993 for $2000.
Manufactured by Rhino.
Makani Akua
Acquired from original Akau Hana Canoe Club.
Bradley racer. Purchased in 1997 for $5700. Need more info.
Ho’omaika’i and Brudda Nappy
Acquired in 2007 when Akau Hana merged with Santa Cruz Outrigger Canoe Club.
Bradley Strikers purchased in 2003. Ho’omaika’i was $3000 and Brudda Nappy was $4000.
Ho’omaika’i and Brudda Nappy were both originally built by Calvin Hirahara of Marina del Rey Outrigger Canoe Club for that club with molds supplied under the direction of Sonny Bradley.
Both canoes were formally blessed in a pule by Manley Bush.
Kumulipo OC1
Purchased from Jude at Huki in 2006 for $3200. V1-X manufactured by Huki.
Kananimauloa
Purchased in 2007 for $8000. Mirage manufactured by Outrigger Connection.
Wai Uli
Sailing canoe donated to the club in June 2009 by Reid ?. Manufactured by Holopuni Canoes.
Sold in 2014 to a group that sails in Baja in order to purchase another OC6 (Kāholo).
Lapa Uila
Purchased in 2010 from Ryan Pouge. Bradley Lightning manufactured by Pouge Sports Canada. Original price was $10,200.
OC2
Purchased in 2015 from Maureen “Auntie Mo” Fratis. Originally bought by her via Dave Dyc when she paddled with Pu Pu OʻHawaii. Honukai manufactured by John Martin. Price (used) was $2,000. This replaced the original Honukai that was damaged beyond repair in a beach landing.
Kāholo
Purchased in 2015 from Geoff Smith at Ulu Pono. Bradley Hi-tech Lightning manufactured by Ulu Pono. Original price was $18,400. Blessed on 7/2015.
Ke Kai Malama Keiki
Unlimited Puakea Designs canoe purchased in 2016 by Jacob’s Heart for fundraising via an arraignment created by Dave Waynar where after 4 years and an agreed amount of total fundraising the ownership transfers to OSC. Original price was $21,000. OSC agreed to donate $2,500 per year for 4 years to Jacob’s Heart, in addition to additional fundraising events, until the original purchase price was recovered. The canoe was blessed 10/21/2016.
Makua Kāne Dave
Unlimited canoe purchased in 2017 from Puakea Designs. Original price was $23,220, fundraising efforts raised half the price in under 3 days! Blessed on 2/26/2017 in a ceremony celebrating the life of Dave Dyc who passed away days before. The canoe was named in his honor.
Red OC1
Donated to the club by Amy Culver in 2017. Approximate year 2008 V1-X manufactured by Huki. Sold to a club member in 2022 due to hull damage.
Manahau
Tahitian style OC6 bought in 2018 for $21,450 including ‘carbon kit’ carbon iakos and ama. Manufactured by FAI Va’a. The name means powerful inside in Tahitian. Sold in 2022 to a club in Washington in order to buy another Puakea.
Purple OC1
The purple OC1 unofficially known as “Mr. Poni” was donated to the club in 2020 by Kimarie Jones. Manufactured by John Martin
Blue Hurricane OC1
The blue Hurricane OC1 was donated to the club in 2020 by Dave and Suzy Loustalot . Manufactured by Outrigger Zone
Red Outrigger Connection OC1
Bought from club member Nate MacBeth in 2022.
