In 2015, Outrigger Santa Cruz joined forces with Jacob”s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, raising funds and sharing hope with children with cancer and their families. Team Jacob’s Heart raised more than $22,000.
With our help, Jacob’s Heart was able to provide:
♥ Financial and Practical Assistance for phone bills, rent, food, utilities, funeral expenses;
♥ Bags of nutritious groceries delivered to homes and hospital rooms by our compassionate volunteers;
♥ Door-to-door rides and gas cards so that children are able to get to treatment with comfort, companionship and safety;
♥ Home and hospital visits to help parents make informed decisions for their children and access additional resources;
♥ Group, family and individual counseling sessions for children, teens and parents enduring treatment and for those bereaved by the loss of a child;
♥ Cards, gifts and remembrances to honor milestones, birthdays and anniversaries;
♥ Personalized gifts and celebrations to children, alleviating stress for parents and bringing joy to children during the holidays;
♥ Camp Heart and Hands, a free weekend camp for children with cancer and their families;
