Step 1: Make sure you have a rubber protector behind the ratchet. Drape over the iako on the rear side of the wae. Don’t drape it too low, as when it tightens it will lower a bit.
Step 2: Thread through the hole in the gunnel and under the iako. Make sure there are no twists in the strap.
Step 3: Wrap over the top of the iako.
Step 4: Wrap under the iako, thread through the hole in the gunnel, and over the top of the iako. Make sure there are no twists in the strap.
Step 5: Go down the other side and under of the wae and thread up through the ratchet slot.
Tighten the ratchet just until the slack is out of the strap. After measuring the ama distance and adjusting the iako, tighten down completely.
